Duo Vita & Žan

Duo Vita & Žan, founded in 2015 at the University of Music in Graz, brings together the unlikely yet captivating combination of cello and accordion, creating a truly unique listening experience. Their performances, which have enchanted audiences across Europe, reveal the richness of this rare pairing: the cello’s gentle warmth intertwined with the vibrant colors of the accordion. Spanning everything from Renaissance pieces to contemporary works, their repertoire is carefully tailored to each occasion, with a passion for music that resonates in every note.


Duo Vita & Žan is a promising musical duo that first met in 2015 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz.

Combining cello and accordion is quite unconventional, but the response so far has been overwhelmingly positive, as this unique blend offers listeners an entirely new musical experience. Our repertoire includes works from the Renaissance, Baroque, and Romantic periods, as well as tango and contemporary compositions. Of course, we are more than happy to tailor our program to your specific wishes.
